I own an Aritech CS350, but have not used my system for a couple of years now. I have tried to activate the system today, but instead of activation, I am getting an ‘open zone(s)’ flashing display indicating that zones 04 and 06 are open. The system will not arm.

After doing a walk test in the engineer mode, I am now able to guesstimate that zones 4 and 6 have more than likely been allocated to the upper floor windows to the front and to the rear of the house, which have been fitted with shock sensors.

What is the most likely cause for the system not to arm in this case and how can I deal with the situation in the absence of the electrician who originally installed the system? Thank you for your consideration.

probobly a faulty connection or device. Zone 6 would usually be a panic button so check them first. On zone 4 disconnect the sensors 1 by 1 & close off the connections as you go. Check open zones after each one.

Thanks for that Colm. I will start the testing of the sensors within the next 24 hours and post my results asap.

Well, after having a closer look at zone 4 (as you said, zone 6 saved for pa devices) there was a bit of loose wiring and 2 examples of inconsistency in the placement of the black (tamper?) wire (in the middle instead of at the top of the sensor terminal). Checked and tightened up wiring at the main junction box as well. System is now back online!! Thanks Colm for your input. Regards, F.
