DIY Alarms. Legal or not?

Technically speaking, Since the Private Security Act, is it now (in Ireland) illegal to install or maintain an alarm system without being NSAI registered - even if it's for your own premises?

You can buy,install and maintain your own system. However it is illegal for you to employ anyone who is not licenced to carry out any work on it.
