View Full Version : Aritech Open Zones
Hi,
Currently, my Aritech Alarm system cannot be armed because it indicates that there are open zones. I have four PIR's attached to the system. Messages on the panel indicate:
07 Open Zone
08 Open Zone
09 Open Zone
10 Open Zone
07T Open Zone
...
What steps can I take to investigate this further.
Thanks.
What Aritech panel is it?
If its a CS450 chech the expander card is sitting correctly.
Is there anything wired into zones 7,8,9 & 10?
I'll check the model later - it does have an expander card. I don't think anything is wired to these zones.
Sounds like a cs450
You could possibly romove the expander card which is zones 7-10
Power down & power up again.
DO you have engineer access?
It is a CS450.
I powered it down by disconnecting the mains and the battery connection.
I left it for ~ 10 minutes and reconnected the battery and the mains.
The same zones are still open. I gently tried to remove the expander card, but did not manage to remove it - i was concerned that i may damage it. It's connection to the main board, is it through the pins along the left-hand side? I'll try to remove it again tomorrow.
I don't have an engineer code. Is it possible to get this privilege by resetting to default settings?
It all depends if the engineer code has been changed or if the system is engineer locked.
The factory engineer code is 1278 you could try this first. If that doesn't work you could try a factory default of the system. Procede as follows:
Power down the system & disconnect the battery
Locate the factory link marked LK1 around the center of the main PCB
Remove this link
Power up the system & disarm using the factory user code 1122
If the system disarms enter the engineer code 1278 to access the engineer menu.
Replace the LK1 link.
If the system does not disarm with the default user code then the system is engineer locked & I'm afraid you will need an engineer to reset your alarm system.
Hi,
Just a note to say thanks for your help.
I turned off the mains, removed the battery connection and reseated the expander card. This did the trick.
Thanks again. :p
