Hi,

I've just moved into a 2 bed house and need an alarm.
I have used the Astec systems in the past and find them ok.

Is it difficult to install an Astec system?

Here is the spec,

1x Key pad
Front and Back door sensors
4x Window sensors
2x PIR sensors

The house is prewired, I’m very familiar with cabling CAT5 / Data & Com Networks etc.. But have no experience with Alarms?

Which alarm would you recommend?
Sorry for all the questions...

For a self install Astec is the most straightforward

Hi Colm,

Thanks for the info, I just picked up the Astec Alarm today.
The set didn’t include the sensors so need to collect tomorrow.

I’m a little intimidated by the install - I got a basic leaflet showing the usually shortcuts, no engineers code etc...

I have the same system in my apartment now so can use as a guide, will be moving out next week.

Would you have an install guide or ref manual? Sorry for the newbie questions.

Thanks again.
