Hi there,

I'm new to this forum so bear with me..

I have a HKC Alarm System (over 7 yaers old) and the battery needs to be replaced so I need to know can I just open the main panel remove the battery and replace with a new one?

Will I need the Eng Code after this to reset anything?

Any help/advice appreciated.

In rare cases the installation company may have a reset programmed into the panel.
But generally its just a matter of disconnecting & replacing the battery. Remember to disconnect the mains supply before opening the panel..

Thanks for the prompt reply, just a few more questions.

When I turn off the power will I loose anything, or is there a time limit I can leave the panel down for as I will need to take the battery with me to get a replacement?

Is there a tamper swith on the panel and if there is will my own code do to turn off alarm (if opening panel activates it) as I dont have the Eng Code.

Again thanks for all your help.

Removing the mains & battery power will not cause any loss of programming.
There is a link marked LK1 on the main board . DO NOT REMOVE THIS.
The alarm should activate when you open the lid. Your user code will disarm the alarm.
