Recently moved into a house with alarm. We have user code for alarm panel, but not engineer's code. We have tried 1278 default engineer's code but it doesn't work. Problem is when we set alarm panel to part guard, pir sensor still activates alarm. Also alarm panel won't let us inhibit any zones. Any suggestions and is there any way to reset panel to factory defaults.

It all dependes on whether the alarm system is engineer locked. Power down the control panel by disconnecting the mains power & also the back up battery.
Locate the factory link on the main PCB (marked LK1) & remove this.
Power up the system & disarm using the factory code 01122.
If the system disarms you have sucessfully unlocked the panel & can now enter the engineer mode using the code 01278.(Don't forget to replace the factory link at this stage.) All codes & configurations can be set in this mode.

If this does not default the panel you will require an engineer callout to flash the chip & default the panel.
If you are in or around Dublin PM me.

Am in Co Louth, and we had to call an engineer before as spring on lid on main box was broken so open tamper zone kept on showing. He was there fot about 5-10 mins and charged €90. We didn't know about other problems then as we couldn't set alarm because of tamper so we are in two minds about calling an engineer because of how much last one charged us.

€80-€100 is about average.
