I have a Aritech cs350 in my home, I recently cut a wire for this Alarm during a frenzied bit of DIY. I've connected the wire again and the system has power but now when I try to set it I'm getting a Tamper alert - Open zones message. I think I need the engineer code to inhibit the zone thats open. However, the standard code was obviously changed by Tritan, the company who installed it and nowTritan don't appear to exist anymore... is there another way to get the engineer code or to reset this code myself? any thoughts much appreciated!!

It all dependes on whether the alarm system is engineer locked. Power down the control panel by disconnecting the mains power & also the back up battery.
Locate the factory link on the main PCB (marked LK1) & remove this.
Power up the system & disarm using the factory code 01122.
If the system disarms you have sucessfully unlocked the panel & can now enter the engineer mode using the code 01278.(Don't forget to replace the factory link at this stage.) All codes & configurations can be set in this mode.

You may still need to find the tamper fault..

Would you happen to know how long an alarm compnay would hold onto the engineers code for a particular system? I have a cs350 fitted in my home (which I have recently moved into) but I do not have the users code and the system is engineer locked. It obviously resets armed... judging by the ringing in my ears.

I do know the company who fitted it but would they still have the engineers code? the system is 10+ years old.

Generally companys would use the same engieer code (s) .
Therefore they are not keen on giving out the code. They may prefer to call out & reset the system for you.
If you are in or around Dublin we can do this for you also

I can appreciate that as I'm a network engineer. If I understand correctly they are now legally obliged to provide the alarm owner with the code. An arrogant and possibly heavy handed way of going about getting it I know. But if the company are like others I've read about on here and want 500 euro to reset the pcb then it may be the only course of action. I just want to change the codes and check the system out. A full overhaul might be an option in the future but not for now.

Any company could reset the panel for you. I don't know where you are getting the figure of €500, The standard call out would be between €70-€100. Legally you would not have a case if you are expecting them to do it for free..

No No, I think you misunderstand. Legally I expect them to give me the codes. I would never expect someone to come out I do work like that for free because I wouldn't. €70 odd euro doesn't seem too bad. I'll give the company in question a shout and see what the story is. Thanks for your advice.

It is unlikely any company will give out thier engineer codes.
These codes are usually the same & giving out that information would be compromising thier customers security.

Would you be able to recommend an alarm engineer or alarm company in dublin to look at a cs350. I think the system needs to be reset an possibly a couple of wires rewired. I'm wondering what sort of price I should expect to pay. Thanks

Thanks for your suggestion, would you have an idea of what a call-out should cost and how much should we expect to pay if its just a repair job? much appreciated.

Anywhere between €70-€110 + parts if required.

Hi, I'm trying to reset my Aritech CS350 as described, but I can't find LK1 on the main PCB? Any hints on where it might be?

Thanks,

Sheo
