My Astec alarm system is going off during the day for no reason. The sensors and contacts have been tested and checked and all function correctly. The alarm never activates at night when set (could be on for 8 to 9 hours)yet it will go off after about an hour during the day at random intervals. Seems to me that the unit is programmed to go off to get the alarm company a call out fee. Anybody know the engineers code is or come across this before?

The Astec alarm system is fairly precise in locating what is activating your alarm system. What displays on the screen after you disarm the alarm? .
The fact that it only activates during the day & not at night could possibly be due to an Infrared detector being faulty. ( These devices would usually not be active on a night time setting)
The factory code for this alarm system is 4711, although in most cases this would be changed by your alarm company at the time of installation.
The first course of action is to identify the message that is displayed after disarming the alarm. This will identify the zone number & also whether the device is an Infraed . sensor or contact.
Rest assured it is not possible for an alarm company to programme your alarm to activate in this way.
If you want an independent accessment contact us & we can put you in contact with an engineer in your locality.
