Hi, I am in the process of changing out old bellbox with a new one. A local supplier recommended a HKC sabb unit. It is installed with 6 core as illustrated in the manuals but I’m getting a bell tamper message when I arm the system. I’m using the resistor which was bridged out on the panel, between 16 & 17 4.7K, and have put it into the sabb panel. Can anyone enlighten me as to the problem? Thanks.

Hello,
The connections are as follows:
Panel SABB unit
Bell+ >>>>>>>>>>>>>Bell+
Bell ->>>>>>>>>>>>>Bell -
Internal+>>>>>>>>>>>Strobe+
Internal->>>>>>>>>>>Strobe -
BHO (16) >>>>>>>>>BHO (Bell hold off)
Tamper return (17)>>>>Tamper return
The 4k7 resistor should be in series with the tamper return. That is, one leg of the resistor into the tamper return terminal at the bell & the other leg of the resistor connected to the cable going to Tamper return (17) at the panel.
If you still have a problem, the tamper can be bypassed by placing the resistor back across 16 & 17 in the panel , leaving just 16 connected to BHO at the SABB unit.
