Vista 5 smoke Detectors

Hi,I require help with my alarm system (Vista 5).It is installed about 9-10 years,there are 2 x 12v smoke detectors connected to the alarm system. Lately the smoke detectors beep about once every 1 or 2 minutes.Could changing the detectors solve the problem?

Older alarm systems like Vista 5 do not have a low battery warning so I suspect this is the problem.Turn off the mains power to the alarm system.If the outside bell/siren begin to ring or the keypad display dissappears then the back up battery needs to be replaced.
