On an Astec alarm system call engineer 77 refers to the service interval.
It means a preset time has passed since an engineer has last looked at the system.(Usually 12 months) There is no other fault & the alarm system will still operate normally.
The factory engineer code is 1174, but this may have been changed at time of installation by the engineer .
I thought it might be that.
Thanks
I put in the code clear -> 1174 and nothing happened. Is there a way to reset the engineers code?
What can I do if the guy who fitted wont give me the code? Am i legally entitled to it?
Thanks

The Astec Alarm system can be reset , but not easily ,& there is a risk of blowing the processor. Legally I don't think an alarm company has to give you thier engineer code but they can not refuse to reset it if you offer to pay for the call out. I am not willing to discuss unconventional means of resetting security systems on a public forum. If you are looking for reliable engineers who can do this PM me with your location.
I agree, this info should not be to easy to access.
Thanks for your help
