I have a aritech cd72 system. The tamper alarm (control panel and lid panel tamper) has been going off randomly. Had some building work done which might have affected system (lots of condensation). Alarm company replaced control panel to fix problem but tamper alarm went off again last night. Can the engineer permanently disable the tamper sensors? Can tamper alarm be set to trigger alarm lights and not bells? Any suggestions on alternative solutions?
Also, is the system active after tamper alarm has been disabled by PIN or does it have to be reset by the engineer.
Finally, our internal alarm seems just as loud as external alarm. Can the internal alarm be set for 20 min cut off?
Thanks.

On the Aritech CD72 the aux tamper input will also show as Panel Tamper.
Close off this input in the panel to see will this eliminate the problem.
When this is sorted let me know & we can discuss how to set lights etc to switch on a tamer alarm etc.

Thanks. Will closing off aux tamper input also eliminate the lid tamper prob? I just want to deactivate all tamper alarms/sirens completely (you mention we can discuss lights etc later - does this mean it is possible to deactivate siren for all tampers and trigger lights only). Note there is no obvious tamper to the lid/panel (and control panel brand new). Thanks again.
Hi Tamper. As far as I know the aux tamper on that alarm panel is in series with the lid tamper, so more than likely that will solve your problem.
If you get the problem sorted why would you need to deactivate the bells for a tamper condition? (it is possible, but complicated.)
It is possible to mask the lid tamper on this panel if you have engineer access.

Thanks K1. Bit confused. To clarify - closing off aux tamper input should fix panel tamper and lid tamper (as in same loop). Also possible to mask lid tamper with engineer code. Is this correct? Sleepless nights worrying tamper alarm going to go off as well as waking children reason to deactivate bells. Does complicated to deactivate mean this will be complicated for engineer? Would it be easier to set tamper to trigger lights only and not bells? Really appreciate comments. [/img]
It is very likely that the tamper is being caused by the aux tamper. It is a process of elimination i'm afraid. Yes if you have engineer access the lid tamper can be masked in engineer>maintaince>mask lid tamper.. If you do this take the spring off the tamper switch in the panel as this closing again removes the mask. You could also disconnect the internal siren untill you are sure the problem is sorted.
