Hi,
I'm wiring an as270 to a cs250 and have it up and running.
[1and2]->tamper zone seup on cs250 with 4k7.
[3and4]->to terminals stated in manual
I ignored 5 due to not having a AS271.

The manual specifies a 4k7 over the +12 and -0 [3and4] but when I pull the power out at the board, I don't get notified of anything. Is this correct ? Am I missing something ? why the 4k7 resistor over 3and4 ?

Thanks,

Doesn't sound right. 4k7 resistor should be in series with the tamper return to the panel . Once the bell loses power from the panel it should activate. Have you the battery connected?

i have 5 terminals in the siren
1-tamp
2-tamp
3- +12
4- -0 siren
5- -0 for beacon

i have the as270 which had no beacon.

i have 1 and 2 on a seperate zone , with the zone set to tamper.works fine when i test just that tamper zone.

i have +12 and -0 connected to the panel on the int siren terminals. but the manual states i should put a 4k7 over the terminal 3 and 4 on the siren.

if i wire the lot up and test everything works fine, tamper works and siren kicks in when the panel is in an alarm state.

I just don't get why i'm putting a 4k7 over the power connections. when I simulate the +12 being cut, the siren just loses power and I don't get an alert on the panel keypad.

there is no battery inside the as270 siren....

am i making sense ?

1-tamp zone left hand side (4k7 in series)
2-tamp zone right habd side
3- +12
4- -0 siren
5- -0 for beacon

Get 2 4k7 resistors & twist 1 leg of each together & wire in with + connection place each of the other 2 legs into _ bell & _ strobe respectivly ...
re. the 2 tamper connections its important that they are the correct way round.
